Powerful new financial protection for your family

One of our biggest worries as parents is that one of our children will develop a severe illness or disability. It's also our largest uncovered financial risk, often leading to significant long-term expenses and creating a near-impossible juggling act of work and caregiving.

We built Juno to provide peace of mind for all parents and a meaningful financial safety net for those affected by a child's severe disability.

Cash for whatever you need

If your child qualifies for a benefit, Juno pays cash straight to you each month, so you can decide what makes the most sense for you and your family. Cash from Juno is typically tax-free and can be used for anything, including specialized caregiving, uncovered medical expenses, retrofitting your home, or whatever else you may need.

More about Juno

Here are a few important things to know about your child disability insurance plan.

What is the purpose of Juno Child Disability Insurance?

It feels impossible to think  about, but when a child becomes severely disabled or ill, the financial impact on a family is profound. Often at least one parent is forced to reduce their hours or leave the workforce entirely. Just when you should be thinking about one thing only — your child’s health and safety — you’re forced to focus on finances. Juno offers a safety net so you can concentrate on your family when it matters most.

What is the Juno benefit?

Benefits include cash payments plus personalized family support if a child up to age 26 becomes severely ill or disabled. Parents can use the cash for anything, such as caregiving support, or to leave the workforce with financial security to become a full-time caregiver.

Is Juno for children of any age?

Yes. Juno covers children from birth to age 26.

What if I don’t have any children yet?

If Juno is being offered to you on an enrollment rather than automatic basis, open enrollment is typically your once-a-year opportunity to enroll. If you think you might have a child during the benefit period, adding Juno will protect your new family from birth.

What if my child is adopted?

Juno covers all children and is inclusive of all family types. This includes adopted, foster, and step children, and any children you might have in the future. Juno may also cover children of your domestic partner depending on an employer’s plan rules.

What are examples of conditions Juno covers?

Juno covers any severe illness, injury, or disability that may occur from birth up to age 26. The benefit you receive depends on the severity of your child’s condition. The most common conditions that Juno covers include:

  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Down syndrome
  • Duchenne muscular dystrophy
  • Cancer
  • Severe autism
  • Severe disability from injuries (for example, from a car accident, overdose, violence, or sports)
We have a good medical plan. Why do I need Juno?

Juno complements medical insurance with tax-advantaged cash benefits you can use for anything you need if your child becomes severely disabled or ill. For example, you can use the benefit to replace lost wages from taking time off work, hire a caregiver, or pay for uncovered medical expenses. Some people decide to leave the workforce to become a full-time caregiver for their child, and benefits continue if you do. Juno helps give you the financial support and flexibility to choose what’s best for your family.

How is Juno different from critical illness, hospital, and accident policies?

Juno provides significantly larger cash benefits; it is also specifically designed to cover anything that causes severe disability or illness in children and young adults. In addition, Juno provides personalized family support alongside the monthly cash benefits.

Is the claims process straightforward?

Yes, and our dedicated claims specialists are here to support you throughout the process by phone and email.

Is there a waiting period before benefits begin if I’m on claim?

No, there is no waiting period.

Are benefits paid to me in cash?

Yes!

If my child is disabled today, can they still qualify for Juno benefits?

If your child has a pre-existing condition, Juno still covers your child for unexpected, severe disabilities that might arise in the future. However, it’s important to know that Juno does not pay benefits for pre-existing conditions or future conditions caused by or resulting from a pre-existing condition.

What happens if I leave my employer?

If your child is on claim, Juno benefits will continue regardless of whether you continue working for your company. This flexibility empowers you to choose how best to continue your career and support and care for your family. If your child is not on claim at the time you leave the company, you cannot take the Juno policy with you.

How can I contact Juno with questions?
